Broncos

The Broncos lost to the Steelers last night 28-10. Our offense scored a total of three points. We are now 6-2 and only one game ahead of San Diego in the AFC West. I do not understand the play-calling decisions by Denver at all; 3rd-and-10 and they call A SCREEN PASS?! Marshall gained maybe two yards. Seriously? I think they need to evaluate their play calling and shake things up a bit. For starters put Peyton Hillis in once in awhile- we had 27 yards rushing total. Three for Moreno and Twenty-Four for Buckhalter. That is unacceptable. They also need to work on spreading the ball around, we have receivers not named Marshall who are capable of catching the ball. Orton after throwing one interception in the first seven games, threw three last night. He usually doesn't make too many mistakes I think he just tried to make too much happen. I do wish Denver would take a shot down field once-in-awhile though. It was also disheartening to watch Champ Bailey lose the one-on-one battles he used to win. I didn't think we would have won six games at this point in the offseason- so that is a good surprise- but I wish they would continue winning.

Grady

I have waited months. MONTHS! For Grady Sizemore to roll into town with the Indians to play the Twins. Now I have to wait even longer :/
His elbow is inflamed so they placed him on the 15 day disabled list. WTF?! SO CLOSE! :'(

Penguins 6 - Capitals 2 (Game Seven Semi-Finals)

Who are these Penguins who showed up to play last night? Where were they last Stanley Cup vs. the Wings?

The Penguins deserved to win last night, they out-shot the caps, out-manned 'em and out played 'em. The Capitals should not have to rely on Ovie to win every game for them.
Where were Bäckström, Semin, Green, Clark, or Fedorov when they were needed?

I could go over last night, again, again and again, but instead I just focus on tonight and the Game 7 matchups between:

-Wings vs. Ducks 7pm ET on Versus, followed by:

-Bruins vs. Hurricanes

More updates tomorrow...(after the ducks and Bruins win :)

CAPS--RANGERS GAME SEVEN!

Storming back from a 3-1 deficit in the series, the Caps beat the Rangers 2-1 and won the series 4-3! The Caps made it to round two for the second time in history, twenty-one years later! I cannot say enough about Simeon Varlamov and his out-of-this-world goaltending! To get the call in game two, to go from the AHL to the NHL Stanley cup playoffs and do as well as he did, calmly. WOW. So impressive. I was listening to the game on 820 WFED and I LOVE the play-by-play announcer, you can tell he loves this team :) They scored and my ears bled from his loud proclomation of "SCOOOOOOORE!! "

4-0 Skoula Game Star!

Impressed with: Shepp (3 minutes in, already playing better than entire 1st period)
Skoula- Non confrontational with Bertuzzi, does his job instead. Got the puck into the zone, then Shepp and Gaby did their jobs! (4-0).

Overall: Impressed with the wild 3-0 first period, second period taking more shots, same with third Gaby scores in the third to top off the sweet 4-0 VICTORY!!

Wild Vs. Flames 4/3/09

Wild vs. Flames (0-3-2 this season)

Five games to go (incl. this one) I wasn't very impressed with what I saw against the canucks, so I'm hoping (praying) we'll do better against the hard-hitting canucks.

Lineups:

Goalies-

Wild: Niklas Bäckström Flames: Miika Kiprusoff

Wild Starting Line:

LW------------------C------------------RW

Veilleux Belanger Clutterbuck

D------------------D

Johnsson Schultz

Scoring:

  1. Brunette. Assists: Zidlicky, Bergeron ( First time we scored on a power play against flames this season 1-16)
  2. Clutterbuck. Assists: Belanger, Schultz
  3. Nolan. Assists: Miettinen, Veilleux

Impressed with: John Scott- Big, but he gets shots on goal, and is a hard-hitting defensemen. Miika Kiprusoff- 2nd powerplay he was solid in goal.

Laughing at: Shepp's constant yearn for a fight :) Mikko's faceoff head nod.

What??!! Gaby- MORE SHOOTING! Take chances! Less passing. Not impressed with Shepp's 1st period.

Fave quote: "Owen Nolan has a nose for the puck."

End of 1st period thoughts: The wild have been impressive, hard hitting, and taking shots for the most part. So far MUCH improved over the Tuesday Vancouver game.

McDaniels...Sux

There are reports saying McDaniels wanted to trade Jay Cutler for Matt Cassel who him groomed and worked with in N.E. and he apparently told Jay he thought Cassel was better!
Why would you say Cassel is better than Cutler? Cassel was a product of the system in New England, can he work outside that? Not proven. Jay is proven to be a progressingly good quarterback, good job on screwing the relationship up!

Grr

Okay, I'm listening to the Wild (lose. so far) and the Sharks. On the Sharks radio network...talk about contradictory eh? Anyway I'm pissed because the announcer was talking about Mikko and he goes Saku Koivu's little brother Mikko....yak yak yak. MIKKO IS SUCH AN AMAZING PLAYER, YOU DON'T NEED TO ASSOCIATE HIM WITH SAKU FOR PEOPLE TO RECOGNIZE HIM! AUGH! Dumkof! Spawn of falness no doubt.

EDIT:
Wow. Of course I would go to bed when we're down 3-0 and come back and win 4-3 in an AMAZING game. goosh.
